Here's a simple guide on how to read your prescription:
- OD and OS: These abbreviations stand for "oculus dexter" (right eye) and "oculus sinister" (left eye). The information for each eye will be listed separately.
- Sphere (SPH): This indicates the lens power needed to correct nearsightedness (-) or farsightedness (+). A minus sign indicates nearsightedness, and a plus sign indicates farsightedness.
- Cylinder (CYL): This represents the degree of astigmatism correction needed, if any.
- Axis: This number defines the orientation of the cylindrical power for astigmatism correction.
- Add: This is an additional correction for presbyopia or reading glasses. It's the added magnifying power applied to the bottom part of multifocal lenses.
- Pupillary Distance (PD): This is the distance between the centers of your pupils, crucial for accurate lens placement.
Example:
OD: -1.25 -0.50 x 180
OS: -1.50 -0.75 x 175
Add: +2.00
PD: 64 (Right) / 62 (Left)
In this example:
- The right eye has a sphere power of -1.25, a cylinder power of -0.50 at an axis of 180 degrees.
- The left eye has a sphere power of -1.50, a cylinder power of -0.75 at an axis of 175 degrees.
- An additional power of +2.00 is added for reading.
- The pupillary distance is 64 for the right eye and 62 for the left eye.

I just wanted to make a note that this seller went above and beyond to provide me with new lenses for a beloved pair of older sunglasses. These are my favorite sunglasses, and a little tree branch scratched my old lens (better than my eye, but sad). I ordered lenses for my model, but the seller reached out noting that it didn't have all of the necessary measurements for my sunglasses order, and offered to let me ship my frames to custom measure the replacement lenses. I got my sunglasses back with the lenses and they are perfect. Really appreciate that they went above and beyond to replace those lenses.

These sun glasses are my favorite but they are old. I am so glad Seek had replacement lenses for these shades. They fit perfectly and I am beyond happy.
My New Wayfarers had prescription lenses and I wanted to replace them with standard lenses. I found Fuse and Seek offering replacement lenses for Wayfarers. I ordered a pair of each and they are both good but I like the Seek lenses better as they do a better job of reducing the glare in full sunlight. The optics are great, the lenses fit perfectly and I highly recommend them.
